¿What should you have in mind before buying makeup products?
When we talk about makeup we have to consider more than one factor and we shouldn’t buy the first thing that we see that we like, since it could take its toll on us later.
The type of skin we have is essential when it comes to knowing what foundation to buy: if your skin is oily, opt for a matte or oil-free makeup; if it is dry, choose a moisturizing or creamy base. If your skin is sensitive, then it’s ideal you try different products so you don’t get it wrong.
Face powders, they don’t do too much favor for dry skin, but they are ideal for oily skin. They fix makeup and prevent shine from coming out, although their use is very particular to each one (I don’t like them too much, I only use when my skin asks for it)
Foundation shade for the skin can be tested in various areas. It is usually tested on the back of the wrist, but this varies according to the skin; In my case, for example, my wrist and my face do not have the same colour. So if I trust how the color looks there, then I know it won’t look good on my face.
Correctors is another tricky issue: All different tones, one tone below, the same tone, too dark. Again experience is a degree. We recommend correctors that are not too below the tone of the foundation base.
Máscara almost all are very similar, but there are a few that are exceptional. Keep in mind that this is a product in which you can only change the brush and perhaps slightly the composition of the mask itself. The variations of a single brush are very finite. In this topic there are very good máscaras for a low price.
Some tips:
- Don’t spend a lot of money on pencil eyeliners or lip liners. They have been left out of the current makeup trends and tend to harden the look in the light.
- Also, do not buy highlighters if you have been applying makeup for a short time, since it takes a minimum experience to apply them well. If you still want to try, do it with a cheap one, like Sephora for example, because if you don’t like how it looks you won’t have lost too much money.
